THERAPY FOR ADOLESCENTS
The adolescent years are a significant time of growth and development.
Teenagers are forming a stronger sense of who they are while navigating changes in their bodies, relationships, families, social lives, and expectations for the future. This can be exciting, but it can also feel confusing, overwhelming, and isolating.
Therapy provides a place to slow things down and begin making sense of what they are experiencing. Together, we work to put words to feelings that may be difficult to understand or express.
WORKING WITH TEENS
I do not expect a teenager to immediately open up or know exactly what they want to talk about. Trust develops over time, and I work collaboratively with each adolescent to create a relationship that feels genuine, safe, and respectful.
Our work may explore anxiety, anger, sadness, family conflict, social pressure, academic stress, low self worth, or questions about identity and belonging.
Rather than viewing the adolescent as the problem, we remain curious about what their emotions and behaviors may be communicating.
